Digital and multimedia storytelling assignments can capture students' attention, provide avenues for personal and creative expression, and encourage critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. In this session, Yvonne Gavela-Ramos and Eduardo Negueruela-Azarola from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese will discuss their work fostering students' agency in the second language classroom through a digital storytelling project inspired by sociocultural psychology principles, including stories from Spanish L2 university students that illustrate the new learning opportunities created when writing personal digital stories. Ben Johnston, Educational Technologist from the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, will provide an overview of the tools and resources available to support the successful implementation of digital storytelling course assignments.. . . .
