Film Festival - Euzhan Palcy - A Pioneer of Transnational Cinema

Despite Euzhan Palcy's impressive and influential career in cinema that the Academy of Motion Picture recognized in awarding her its exceptional Honorary Oscar in 2022, therefore making her join a restricted list of unique, world-class artists like Walt Disney, Agnès Varda, Sidney Poitier, and Samuel L. Jackson, there has been no academic convention nor monograph devoted to her rich and complex artistic trajectory. During this first-ever, one-day Ciné-Symposium, a dozen specialists in cinema, the Caribbean, and Black cultures and history will convene to offer innovative approaches to Euzhan Palcy's works.
