While aversion and avoidance are understandable and principled responses to the appearance of generative AI in translation circles, they do not provide the degree of specificity needed to intervene effectively and prevent abuse. This presentation by Russell Scott Valentino, professor in the Departments of Slavic and East European languages and comparative literature at Indiana University, attempts to formulate principles of thinking about AI's use that can help practitioners keep their footing, and their balance, amid uncertain and changing circumstances. --- Event Details: https://my.princeton.edu/rsvp?id=1960774
