Join us for a hands-on, educational workshop celebrating the Latin American folk art tradition of sugar skull making (calaveras de azúcar), led by guest artist Veronica Olivares Weber, as part of Princeton's Día de los Muertos observance.
Participants will:
* Learn the cultural and artistic origins of sugar skulls in Mexican and broader Latin American traditions.
* Reflect on how practices like sugar skull making sustain intergenerational memory and cultural identity.
* Create their own sugar skull using traditional materials and techniques.
No experience required and all materials provided. Open to all Princeton students, faculty, and staff.
Sponsored by the Carl A. Fields Center (CAF)
