Destination Risks

Bermuda from an aerial vantage

It is critically important that Princeton travelers are informed of the variety of risks they may encounter while on international University Travel. Here you will find information and resources about the risks you may face in different destinations worldwide.

The destination risk categories listed below correspond to the definitions and travel requirements in the GS&S Travel Policy. Please note that some countries may have multiple risk categories (M for Mixed) for different areas or cities. Be sure to expand a destination's entry for full information.

GS&S reviews destination risk categorizations on a monthly basis and publishes changes to the Princeton community. Major in-country developments may prompt GS&S to conduct an ad hoc review of the safety and security environment and adjust a destination's risk category accordingly. You can view the current list of Category X destinations, including a record of any changes from the previous month.

Remember, GS&S is here to help. If you have any safety or security related questions, including those specific to your identity, planned activities, or destination, please contact GS&S at globalsafety@princeton.edu to schedule a tailored risk consultation with a member of the GS&S team.
