The Social Impact of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI): Technology, Inclusion, and Hierarchy in India and Beyond

Apr 22
12:20PM to 1:30PM
Louis A. Simpson International Building - 144, Princeton, NJ 08544, United States
DPI includes technologies for identity, payments, data exchange, and artificial intelligence. As with all technologies, access to these services is mediated by--and shapes--society. This conversation builds on empirical research by Dr. Dixit into the impact of DPI on caste relations to ask a broader set of questions about how these technologies are shaping social inclusion and exclusion. The conversation will be rooted in India but also point to some cross-country findings, drawing on ongoing CGI research into the globalization of DPI. Free and open to the public. --- Event Details: https://my.princeton.edu/rsvp?id=1976065
