Middlebury School in China: Kunming
The Middlebury School in China: Kunming is intended for students with an intermediate to advanced level of Chinese language. The program gives students the chance to live directly with Chinese roommates, while building upon their knowledge of Chinese language and culture. Located in Southwest China and close to several countries in Southeast Asia, Kunming is known as the "City of Eternal Spring."

Middlebury School in Italy: Florence
The Middlebury School in Florence offers a variety of subjects for advanced students of Italian in the city known as the "cradle of Renaissance." One core mandatory course is offered at the Middlebury Center while the others at the University of Florence or Florence's Art Academy (for visual arts concentrators). Students sign the Middlebury language pledge for full language immersion.

As part of the University of London, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is the only higher education institution in Europe specializing in the study of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The school also has the largest concentration of specialist faculty concerned with the study of Africa, Asia and the Middle East at any university in the world. They offer a wide range of courses in the humanities and social sciences covering the cultures of Africa, the Far East, the Middle East, and South and Southeast Asia.
