As the Mpala Research Centre Approaches its Third Decade, A Multidisciplinary Focus Emerges

Mpala Research Centre is one of the world’s premier field-based research centers located on 48,000-acres in Laikipia County, Kenya. As a Kenyan-U.S. collaboration, with backing from several prestigious research organizations, Mpala is distinctively situated to lead research initiatives on pressing topics including conservation, climate change, biodiversity, genomics, ecology, agriculture, human-wildlife interactions and public health. Mpala hosts scholars from more than 65 global institutions and has substantial scientific infrastructure, including one of the few field-based genomics laboratories in sub-Saharan Africa.
