Daniel Yu selected as Princeton valedictorian, Madeleine Murnick as salutatorian
Daniel Yu, an African American studies major from New York, has been selected as the Princeton Class of 2026 valedictorian. Madeleine Murnick, a classics major from Washington, D.C., has been named the salutatorian.
Following graduation, Yu will pursue graduate studies in the United Kingdom as a Marshall Scholar. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and previously won the University’s Freshman First Honor Prize and Shapiro Prize for Academic Excellence.
Murnick's international experience during her time at Princeton includes a fall break trip to Greece as part of the course “Historical Structures” and interning with Princeton University Press in the United Kingdom through the International Internship Program (IIP).
