International Eye photo contest captures student perspectives abroad
Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies, in collaboration with the Office of International Programs, celebrated the winners of the 16th annual International Eye Photo Contest on Thursday, Mar. 26, 2026.
This year, 22 photos were selected from nearly 350 total submissions. The contest was open to all Princeton undergraduate students who have studied, worked, conducted research, or volunteered abroad in the past year. The main categories were judged by James Welling, lecturer with the rank of professor in visual arts; Devin Livi, director, Campus Grounds, judged a new special category this year titled "Seasonal Showcase"
Entries represent a wide range of international activities including semester and summer study abroad, PIIRS Global Seminars, the Novogratz Bridge Year Program, the International Internship Program, independent research and more. Submissions were taken in 30 different countries and came from students in all seven residential colleges and across 30 different majors.
