Patrick Chamoiseau to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Fiction from the Center for Fiction

Patrick Chamoiseau, Belknap Visiting Fellow in the Humanities Council and the Department of French and Italian, will receive the Lifetime of Excellence in Fiction Award from the Center for Fiction in New York City on December 10, 2024. Author of Texaco (Prix Goncourt, 1992) and many other works of fiction, as well as essays, folktales, screenplays, and a three-volume autobiography, Chamoiseau is currently teaching a graduate seminar entitled From Slavery to Globalization. Previous winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Toni Morrison, Kazuo Ishiguro, Wole Soyinka, and Salman Rushdie.
